|Question / Issue|
|Unable to make inbound connections from the Internet to the LAN-Cell using Alltel|
|Answer / Solution|
|By default, Alltel blocks most "inbound" connections to remote devices via a firewall between their network and the Internet.
UDP Port 500 is typically open for initiating IKE requests to establish IPSec VPN tunnels. You can set up a VPN tunnel to your LAN-Cell and access remote devices via the tunnel.
Otherwise, you must work with your Alltel field support engineer to define which specific ports must be opened in their firewall for your application. You must also match these rules in the LAN-Cell's firewall. It may be possible to request that Alltel open ALL inbound ports from ANY remote IP address which would effectively eliminate the impact of the Alltel firewall.
