| What is the lowest acceptable CSQ value? |
| Answer / Solution |
 |
The output of the AT+CSQ? command returns a Signal Quality Measure (SQM) of between 0 and 31 and reflects the current signal-to-noise ratio present at the moment of the measurement. It is best to take several SQM measurements over a period of several minutes to get a clearer picture of the signal strength at your location (for the currently selected carrier, frequency band, and channel).
SQM values consistently below 5 represent a low signal and/or high noise environment and will result in either no connection to the carrier or an unreliable connection at best.
If possible, move the antenna to a different location for better reception, remove any localized interference (e.g. CRTs, computers, lights, other radios), or select a different antenna. |
