The CDMA carriers create and maintain the PRL (Preferred Roaming List) file to reflect their network configuration and current roaming agreements with other carriers. Some CDMA carriers do not use PRL files at all.
Proxicast typically loads the carrier's current PRL into the LAN-Cell Mobile Gateway at the time of manufacture. Some carriers can update the PRL in the device "over-the-air". For others, we can provide special software tools to update the PRL -- although this is rarely necessary.
For 3G PC-Card modems, periodically remove the card from the LAN-Cell and place it in a laptop and the Windows software application that came with your PC-Card modem to update the card's PRL and/or firmware. |
