Question / Issue
VPN client tunnel might fail to open after upgrade to Windows 10

Answer / Solution

When using the Proxicast VPN Client for Windows, a VPN tunnel might fail to open after upgrading to Windows 10.

Check if the VPN Client console log shows the following message:

20150806 14:12:55:088 TSocket No socket for IPV4 address 192.168.0.20:500
20150806 14:12:55:088 TSocket message data type IKE (0) could not be sent

If so, the Windows service IKEEXT should be disabled.

Solution #1:
Go to 'Control panel' > 'Administrative Tools' > 'Services'
Set the 'Startup type' of the IKEEXT service to 'Disabled'
Restart the VPN Client software

Solution #2:
Re-install the VPN Client software (same release number if you don't have 'Update Option', any release number otherwise).
