| LAN-Cell 2 Data Usage Counters |
| Answer / Solution |
| The LAN-Cell 2 automatically keeps track of the number of bytes transmitted and received through the 3G cellular interface during each connection session with the cellular carrier. This information is displayed in the Details section of the Cellular Interface Status window on the Home Screen (Figure 1). The counters are reset on each system restart of the LAN-Cell.
You can use the Cell-Sentry feature to record the cumulative amount of data transferred each month. The Cell-Sentry counters are NOT reset on system restart - only via a monthly reset date or manually by the user. Set the Cell-Sentry's data budget to 1 MB per month (the minimum) and enable Log and Alert functions for over the Over Budget condition. Set the notification frequency and reset date as desired.
Figure 2 shows an example where the data statistics are written to the log every 12 hours (43,200 minutes). You can periodically review the LAN-Cell's log to see the usage information. You will receive a log or alert message similar to the following: ![]() Figure 3: SMTP Log Settings |
