|Answer / Solution|
|LAN-Cell models 1xMG-401 and GPRS-401 do not contain a real-time clock, so upon each restart, the LAN-Cell's internal clock defaults to 01/01/2000 12:00 AM.
The LAN-Cell 2 does include a battery backed-up real-time clock. Once the time is set, the LAN-Cell 2 will maintain the correct time. If the time is shown as 01/01/2000, then the back-up battery may need to be replaced. Contact Proxicast Technical Support.
You can configure the LAN-Cell to automatically obtain the current time & date from a Time Server on the LAN or Internet by selecting the appropriate protocol and servers on the SYSTEM/TIME AND DATE tab. The LAN-Cell has an internal list of time servers that it will attempt to use if you do not provide a time server address.
Note: The LAN-Cell's clock will not be updated until it is able to reach a time server. For Internet-based time servers, this may take up to several minutes depending upon how long it takes the LAN-Cell's WAN/Cellular Modem interface to make a connection and the time server to respond. Log events recorded prior to the time server update will not be adjusted and will be relative to 01/01/2000 12:00 AM
