|Using the Sprint Plug-in-Connect Tri-Mode USB Modem (Franklin Wireless U770) with the LAN-Cell 3|
|Answer / Solution|
Before using the Franklin U770 modem in the LAN-Cell 3, Proxicast recommends making several configuration changes to the modem.
The LAN-Cell 3 will now begin communications with the U770 modem. You will observe the USB interface going up and own several times while the initial connection is established. Once complete, the USB WAN section of the status column will appear as shown in Figure 7, and the Router Status screen will be similar to Figure 8.
Note: The LAN-Cell 3 will not display the signal strength, service provider or currently active radio technology in its GUI. This information can be obtained from the U770 at any time by viewing http://192.168.10.1
Since the U770 defaults to use 192.168.10.1, you must not use this subnet on the LAN-Cell or any other networks accessible by the LAN-Cell.
The U770 has several external antenna ports. For CDMA and LTE networks, the ports are located on the sides (Figure 9). Use antenna pigtail ANT-103-TS9 for these ports. The WiMAX port is on the rear of the modem.
