Financial & Retail Applications
For The LAN-Cell 3G Cellular Router

Automated Teller Machines (ATMs)

Quickly Set Up ATMs Anywhere
Proxicast's LAN-Cell 3G cellular router is used by financial institutions worldwide to provide secure communications for permanent, temporary (fairs, festivals, special events, etc.) even van-mounted mobile ATMs.

Securely link to your ATM network over the public Internet using the LAN-Cell's built-in state-of-the-art security features (see below). You are not tied to a specific vendor's proprietary communications network or protocol. No need to wait for or pay for communications lines to be installed. Deploy using any CDMA or GSM cellular network worldwide by simply inserting a compatible 3G PC-Card modem.

The LAN-Cell 2's small size and rugged construction allow it to be easily mounted inside of ATM cabinets. An external antenna jack enables you to position the antenna for maximum reception regardless of the ATM's location. Proxicast even offers several "low-profile" vandal resistant antennas ideal for ATM use.

The Secure Communications You Need
The LAN-Cell 2 3G router offers the most security options of any cellular communications product on the market. Unlike simple cellular modems that provide Internet access but leave the ATM and its communications unprotected, the LAN-Cell 2 integrates a 3G broadband cellular modem with full IPSec VPN end-point capabilities plus a Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall and advanced routing features.

All communications with the LAN-Cell (including device management) can be fully protected using DES/3DES/AES encryption and X.509 or PKCS digital certificates. You can restrict access to the LAN, VPN or LAN-Cell itself based on IP address, MAC address, and/or application, thereby "locking down" communications to only authorized devices or networks.

These features give you the flexibility to adapt the LAN-Cell to work with your existing secure communications standards.

Maximum Uptime = Maximum Profits
The LAN-Cell 2 gives you three ways to connect remote ATMs:

  1. Wired Ethernet - DSL, Cable Modem, etc.
  2. Serial Modem (Analog Telephone POTS, point-to-point RF, satellite, etc.)
  3. Cellular Modem (2G/3G CDMA or GSM)

Any of these interfaces can be designated as primary, with the others serving as redundant back-up communication paths. Fail-over to the back-up interfaces is automatic -- delivering maximum up-time for your ATM communications.
