The Proxicast LAN-Cell 3G cellular router is the "all-in-one" solution for providng secure remote communications for all types of industrial equipment including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), data loggers, process monitors, analyzers, amd other devices.

The LAN-Cell 3G router supports any TCP or UDP-based industrial networking protocol such as Modbus-TCP. Ethernet-based controllers can be connected natively to the LAN-Cell. Serial-based systems (RS232/422/485) can be easily interfaced with an inexpensive serial-to-Ethernet converter. You can even "mix & match" Ethernet and serial devices using the LAN-Cell's built-in 4 port 10/100 Ethernet switch.

Access Remote Equipment From Anywhere
The LAN-Cell can stay "always connected" to a Cellular Data Network (CDMA or GSM) providing continuous access to any devices attached to the remote LAN-Cell unit. Using either static IP addresses from the ISP (or the LAN-Cell’s Dynamic DNS feature), you can seamlessly connect OPC client and server devices over the Internet to extend your control network to all of your remote sites.

Standard cellular modems can provide remote access, but they leave your equipment unprotected against Internet threats.

Offering much more than any modem, the LAN-Cell 2 combines a user-upgradable 3G cellular modem with state-of-the-art IP routing, Firewall and VPN features into a single easy to deploy device. You have complete control over a set of fine-grained security options to "lock-down" access to your equipment by remote IP address, port or protocol. With its built-in VPN client & server, the LAN-Cell allows you to securely extend your corporate network to industrial devices without the need for additional hardware, software or device configuration changes.

The LAN-Cell 2's small size, wide operating temperature, low power consumption, and external antenna options make it easy to integrate into existing control cabinets. Our Card-Lock and Card-Guard features ensure that the 3G cellular PC-Card modem is not damaged or removed unintentionally.

The Proxicast LAN-Cell 2 3G Cellular Router (Mobile IP 3G Router) utilizes user accessible upgradable high-speed PC-Card (PCMCIA / laptop) 3G modems and supports all CDMA & GSM 2.5G & 3G cellular modem standards including CDMA2000: EV-DO RevA, EV-DO Rev0, 1xRTT; UMTS / W-CDMA: HSUPA, HSDPA, HSPA, EDGE, and GPRS on all major wireless carriers (cellular internet or broadband) worldwide including Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Alltel, AT&T Mobility (Cingular), T-Mobile, Rogers, Telus, Bell Mobility, Telcel, Orange, Vodafone, O2, Telstra & others.
