How Fast Will My Connection Be?
The LAN-Cell 2 supports all of the latest high-speed 3G standards including CDMA EVDO Rev. A and GSM HSDPA/HSUPA and will go as fast as your connection permits.

EVDO Rev. A networks offer peak speeds of 3.1 Mbps downstream and 1.8 Mbps upstream with typical "real-world" performance of 500-1200 Kbps down and 350-600 Kbps up. HSPA currently offers a max of 7.2 Mbps down / 2 Mbps up and real-world performance of 600-1200 Kbps down / 300-800 Kbps up.

For video this translates into potential frame rates as high as 20 fps or more depending upon the 3G service available at your location and the specifics of your video format.

What About Cellular Costs and Carrier Limits?
The LAN-Cell 2 has several features to help you control costs for remote video applications including our exclusive Cell-Sentry "watchdog" feature that monitors cellular usage and Bandwidth Management features to throttle video stream rates. Port redirection and end-to-end VPN capabilities allow you to avoid carrier port restrictions without changing your video equipment configuration.

NOTE: Some network operators restrict continuous video streaming applications on their networks. Check with your carrier regarding your planned usage of remote video applications.
